    Antivirus

    This app is highly rated. Does it actually do anything beneficial or is it all a farce? Spyware and virus's on a smartphone?

    It's not necessary, will probably be a resource hog and slow your phone down.

    And it just froze my phone on first run. Had to pop the battery. Uninstall.

    The chances of you getting a virus on your phone are more remote then me getting one on my mac and I don't use virus protection on that either. Windows is the one people love to attack, because it's the most popular. And your Droid isn't even as popular as an iPhone.
