I am thinking of hiding my notification bar, but not sure what apps would perform the following duties to allow these things:
Signal Strength (at work signal can be horrible)
battery life
mount drive?
You know the stuff I currently do with the notification bar. Any advise for apps or widgets to replace these things?
I'm not sure about 2/3 of your question, but I use Batterylife widget, and I like it.
if you use adw launcher u can hide u notif bar and just hit the home button to bring it back

I think with adw you need to root your phone, I havent done that. I am currently using ProLauncher.
no you dont. i have a stock android 2.2, not rooted. and its truly amazing. very customizable, i have tried every launcher, its the best imo

anywayz any ideas of how people that do hide their bar get around these things...
