    Can someone please explain what the push service is for k9 mail?

    Your mail server has to support IMAP IDLE, which is the closest you can get to "push" on Android.

    Yeah I just setup a dummy gmail account that absorbs all my Comcast emails and sends them to my phone via K9 IMAP. Works nicely.
