    Network controlling app?

I'm looking for a app where I can specify what programs that are allowed to use 3G. Because atm I'm using lot of mb when I'm just idling with my phone, so need an app to control the data flow. Is there an app that could do this?

3G data is unlimited (not just "unlimited... but really capped at 5 GB" like some other carriers). If you had a tethering plan (not yet available for Droid), *that* would be capped at 5GB.

So, if I'm understanding you, you'd like an app that, say, enables downloads of RSS feeds when you're using Wifi but not when you're on a 3G network. Is that correct?

I don't know of an app that does what you're looking for but here are some thoughts...

() One of the "profile" or "locale" apps might enable you to do what you're trying to accomplish by enabling synching functionality only if Wifi is detected.

() It's a workaround, I realize, but the power control widget allows you to manually control "synching." You could turn it on only when your wifi is active.

() Most apps that utilize synching or downloading data in the background have settings that allow you to set the frequency of the behavior. You can certainly avoid including those that don't allow that control and turn on synching only when you open the apps that provide that control.

Good luck. Most of us tend to forget that the entire Droid community isn't using the same VZW network that we have in the US.

Not only RSS, but all of the network traffic from all apps.

The problem is that I don't know wich apps that are using traffic. Even if the "sync" button is off, I use about 25mb/s a day.
