    Is there any free SMS/Text Message App for the Droid?

    I was just wondering if anyone knew of a free text messaging app for android devices, specifically Motorola Droid?

    go into the market and download HandSent. It does anything text that you could want. (more or less).

    Thanks every one for replying back to me. I used Handsent before, now is that do that send free text messages or is it just a tool for text messaging?

    I seriously doubt you're going to be able to find any application that will allow you to send free text messages... given it would kind of defeat the purpose of the text messaging plan itself...

    Yeah I don't think so either. I'm coming from the iphone 3gs and I know that they had several aps that sent free text messages. But oh well. Some people been saying to use Google Voice, so I'm tryingtoset that up right now

    You have to be invited into Google Voice. Either by someone already in that has invites available or by requesting an invite and then waiting.
