    RadioTime for android

    RadioTime

Has anyone used this app yet? Debating on getting it, but 2.99 is a bit much... Tried iheartradio, but I really just want my local station 970 am kbul. I would like to hear from some fellow droidforum people to tell me how they liked it before I spend 2.99 on an app for radio... why cant the droid just do AM radio... it can show me the planets in the darn sky, but cant tune to AM???
And now a Message from the Admins...

Bought it.. and yes it beats all or what we currently have available for access to your local stations.

You still need something else (iheart, or other) for Shoutcast.

Go to Radiotime.com to see what you can get access to with the Android APP>

Don't really need Shoutcast, or at least I don't think so, because I dont even know what is. What I would really love is some sort of app like Radiotime where I can listen to my local stations as well as have it save the stream as an mp3 on my phone.

+1 on mentioning this. It will be interesting to see if local baseball is carried during the season. (I suspect not due to MLB restrictions.) But the selection of local stations here in the Puget Sound is relatively good. Especially noteworthy is that a number of the "HD" alternate streams from stations are available.

Not all the stations available at radiotime.com are available through the Droid app. It's a good idea to check on the web to see if the stations you're interested in are available on the android stream.

BTW, for those interested primarily in NPR, the NPR News app now supports streaming of hundreds of NPR stations.

Not easily accessible. Go to the following link and look at "Is My Station Available." Unfortunately, it doesn't provide a list of local stations. You'll have to look for specific stations.

I purchased it a few weeks ago as an easy way to listen to some of my favorite talk radio shows that are out of the area. Unfortunately, I tend to have more problems buffering than I would like to. This morning, for instance, I listed to Clark Howard with no problems for about 15 minutes, then it began buffering non-stop for close to an hour (it would come back for a minute and buffer for a minute, on and on). The show was on multiple channels at the same time, so I tried different ones, but the same problems were present on all feeds.
