Foxfi for motorola droid x (verizon)- won't stay connected

Does anyone have any ideas on how to address this problem? I have 3G and full bars on my phone, but when I connect foxfi on my phone the connection on my computer goes in and out constantly.

Or-perhaps people know of other / better ways to use a phone in order to get internet on my computer in an office with no modem (and where one is not permitted to be installed).
