And the Carriers will never tell you about the free text messaging apps that use your wireless data instead of the carrier's SMS, because they want to sell you a text messaging plan that ranges anywhere from $0.20 per message (yikes!) to $20 per month.

Then there was the OZ Instant Messaging client for aol, msn and yahoo that came pre-installed on some Windows Mobile phones that would fool one into thinking Instant Messaging uses the unlimited Smartphone data plan, when it actually routes all messages through the Carrier's SMS network, and you get stuck with a huge bill if you don't have a text messaging plan...
