Thumbs up Google now allows you to 'Opt Out' of Ad Targeting Market Aps

Sorry if this was posted already.

Google now allows you to opt out of ad targeting via the Android Market

Are you a huge privacy aficionado? Sure you are – and that’s precisely why this latest news will excite you. Google is now, after an update to the Android Market, allowing you to opt-out of the targeted AdMob advertising system.
While we’re personally not huge on clicking on AdMob ads in the first place, it’s nice to see Google handing back a little bit of privacy to those who may not WANT advertising based on whatever their search habits may be.
Think this is good? Bad? Indifferent? Let us know in the comments!

Don't argue with morons, they bring you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

If the user agrees to use an application that's free then why not give credit to the developer?

I'm down with that...props to Google for putting the option in there.

These days though, you pretty much sell your soul to google anyway! They've got everything on us...more than any other company out there. Let's just hope they keep using it for good! I.E. fulfilling their vision of making the internet a truly "usable" experience again for the individual.

    Just my 2.

I'm a big fan of Google. Although no company is perfect, Google has my business. Google Docs (paid with 200GB of storage), Gmail (30k+ emails), Google Apps for work, Google Voice, Google Talk, Google Reader, I mean Google has my life. lol. I realize that it's making billions off of my personal info but unlike most companies, at least Google keeps me anonymous to an extent and just uses my stats. Out of all the companies out there, Google seems to be pretty good (donating to renewable energy, local communities, funding stuff that benefit people even if it doesn't generate revenue, etc...). I'll admit, I'm a Google fan.

I don't mind when developers and companies try to make some $ with advertisement. Google's advertisement is pretty subtle and that's why I like it. And I'm the type of guy that pays Yahoo mail $20/year not to see ads and will always get the paid version without ads. I'd do the same with Google but the ads are so small and out of the way, I don't mind them.

If the developer has an app that is free, then why does he need ad revenue?

There's enough crap ads on mainstream websites, I do not need to see them taking up space on my mobile device, in the browser is one thing, but in an app, NOPE.

Make it a paid app and be done with it.

If you don't make enough $$$ from it being a paid app, either improve it, or you overpriced yourself out of revenue.

Does the Android Market automatically update or do I have to make it do them manually?
