Someone suggested unmounting the SD card but when I do that I get an error saying that Rio requires you have an SD card to install. When I re-mount the SD card I continue to get the same error I was getting before that it can't be installed.

I finally got around to messing with the app store a bit more. I tested whether or not Amazon set up security to prevent more than one device from downloading an app that has been purchased only once, and apparently they have not. The "help" section on the Amazon app store even tells you how to register additional devices:
As a test I purchased Wolfram Alpha on MY phone (been wanting if for a long time anyway) after also logging into the app store with my wifes phone under the same account. Immediately, the Wolfram Alpha app was available on both device for installation and installed successfully on both devices. To add a device to your account, please download the Amazon Appstore app for Android to that device, and sign in to your account from it. That device will automatically be added to Your Devices. You can also go to www.amazon.com/Appstoreonmobile from your mobile browser to download the Amazon Appstore app for Android.
This brought about another question though. After installing Wolfram Alpha on my wifes phone I wanted to uninstall it but was unable to figure out how to do so. The app store help section had nothing about un-installing apps purchased through the app store... only about uninstalling the app store itself. I'm still working on this one, as my wife has no use for Wolfram Alpha and I don't want to clutter up her phone for her.
Also, I accidentally "purchased" the WSOP app (even though it was free) twice, and now it shows up twice in my "my apps" section. I can't figure out how to remove the duplicate yet, but admittedly, I haven't tried very hard yet either.

OK, apparently uninstalling an app fromthe app store is just like uninstalling an app from the market in that you can go settings>applications>manage application and then uninstall the app. However, the Wolfram Alpha app doesn't show up in my "all apps" list for some reason (on my phone or on my wifes).

Install problem with the Angry Birds Rio "Application Not Installed" Error?? Thunderbolt. Stock.
I finally fixed my problem and here's a little more detailed description of how I did so.
Mount your phone to a PC and browse to the 'android_secure' folder and open that folder. Delete (or copy to your PC just in case) all of the contents of this folder and then back out, unmount and if you want reboot. After that you should be good to go. I imagine one could delete the entire folder but if you're unrooted the phone won't let you so this was the way I did it on my phone. I would assume if you're rooted you can delete this folder and it would rebuild it along w/whatever files it needed after you deleted them.
Good luck!
I have heard, that the Amazon store has 3800 apps. This seems to be a quite small number, there are more than 100.000 iphone apps around and in the Internet, using a file search engine you can easily find several thousands free Android apps for download.
Now if there was some way of getting a daily notification of the free app, that would be awesome.
yesterday's free ap was Shazam Encore, today's is swiftkey keyboard. Angry Birds Rio is still free
