One MAJOR inconvenience though is that apps installed from the Android Market don't show up as "installed" in the Amazon store, and vise-versa. In other words, Amazon will allow you to purchase an app that you've already purchased through the Market. When you try to install though, it detects the duplicate and asks if you want to remove the existing installation and replace with the Amazon version. I think this will need to be sorted out in order to prevent people from accidentally paying for the same app multiple times.

I'm also curious to find out if Amazon has put any type of security in place to stop multiple people who share the same Amazon Prime membership (like my wife and I) from installing an app that has only been purchased once onto multiple devices
Since you have to put your phone number into the 1-click thing, I think that'd solve the security. Might suck that your wife needs to set up a separate amazon account though, not really that terrible.

I wonder since the free angry birds rio just downloaded and made me install via package manager...can't I just grab the apk and give it to anyone I want. Doesn't feel very secure in that respect. I haven't tested this, and probably won't, just curious how they'll go about stopping this.

... gotta register with Amazon to download....

Not sure how I never have, but don't see why my g-mail account doesn't link up to the App Store.

A TON of people are having problems Angry Birds: Rio, because it forces you to download to the SD card. Many people (myself included), cannot download Angry Birds for some reason without unmounting the card. Since Amazon will not allow you to download to the phone itself, you are screwed.

    It's ridiculous.

    Amazon Appstore..Destin to fail.

They are really going to charge for apparently that are otherwise free ob the Android Market? I counted 5 that are free from both the Dev and in the Official Google market. Just a heads up for those browesing the new Appstore, think before you buy. If your going to spend money on a free app, paypal the money to the Dev instead of giving it to Amazon.

Exactly my problem. I've looked up why I've been having to unmount and remount (for any game app) and I have found nothing.

No issues this morning on the OG...

smaller game, 12Mb vs the original, which as about 14Mb, and smoother too, improved code likely.

Anyone know the apk location? Wouldn't mind backing it up, may remove store, but game does have DRM on it ...

Has anybody figured out how to return items to the Appstore? Or if it is even possible? I was trying to get my free Rio download, and accidentally bought the regular Angry Birds too (thank you 1-click settings).

Guess this answers my previous question Angry Birds Rio Unplayable if Amazon AppStore is Uninstalled - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog

Looks like amazon is re-packing the apk's to ensure the amazon app store is loaded on the device. I'd assume this also checks purchase data.
