yeah, my home screen looks oh so lame. what're some good set-ups, widgets to make it look better?
Well first of all if ur like me and don't like having ur home screen crowded, then I recommend MULTICON. It will let u place 4+ icons in the place of one. Though I only recommend 4 cuz more than that makes the icons barely "clickable"

My faves are animated widget (for contacts), Ultimate Favs Pro(instead of using folders, looks pretty cool), colorized widget(does a little bit of everything), and widgetsoid(It's kinda like the power control bar, but does so much more).
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dro...-desktops.html <-- that thread seems just like what you are looking for. Screenshots, then discussions about what their setup consists of. I have found a few decent widgets and theme/setup ideas from that thread.
E2A : Make sure you pay closer attention to the later pages, since that thread was started over a year ago.
Oh good. I was going to ask what you wanted.
I have Battery Time but I just have the small widge because I like having a weekly calendar on my main screen (calendar pad). I use to have the Weatherbug widget, which was cool and showed the current temp, but on my refurbished Droid1 it doesn't show... but I can press it to find the weather, so it's helpful.
Those are about all I use for widgets.
And yes, post 4's link has a wonderful discussion. That's where I learned what a widget was.
i only use three screens so i make it look cool with the beautiful widgets super clock on the front along with 4 shortcuts and 4 folders (the folders have custom icons). i also put AA Task and a widgetsoid switcher on the screen to the right, with two pulse news reader small widgets on the right screen to fill it up. On the left i have pure calender widget (agenda) and droid overclock widget. im more about functionality than looks, but changing around the icons and dock backgrounds makes any launcher look sweet.
Check out the app "LauncherPro Icons & Docks" (i think thats what its called) if your running LauncherPro. And a good site for wallpapers is Flikie Wallpapers if your accessing it from your phone. Lastly, you might want to look at launchers that allow you to change up the effects, such as ADW EX or Go Launcher EX. They both allow you to change up the screen transition effects, and launcher pro has a nice little app opening effect as well.
