my maps editor froyo fix?

Hi, I'm not an app developer by any means, but that's why I've come here. I'm just annoyed with google dropping support for their apps! My maps editor is a perfect example. Most kno already that it doesn't work with froyo, but for those that don't, give it a shot. Why is this? And is there anyone out there that would kno how to modify the app to work with froyo? and then post that apk somewhere? I kno it could be alota work, but I guess its a good chance to show up google if you can do it
