How to make my device detectable by eclipse

I'm trying to start developing android apps and I want to run the apps on my Motorola droid 2. When I follow the instructions on the android development site -> training -> running your application, I do not see my device in the list of connected devices. I have installed the correct driver for this device and enabled the usb debugging setting as well. What do I need to do to get the device to appear?

I figured it out. I needed the change the USB connection settings on my phone from "USB mass storage" to "PC Mode". It works now.
