Appears that it requires mounting a metal disk on the back of your phone (or case) to mate with the magnet in the dock. I'm a bit skeptical about how well this approach works in an environment full of potholes but ymmv.
If you are interested in pursuing a setup like this, I would just by some 3M Dual Lock. As strong as industrial velcro but cleaner and no fuzz. Both the backing adhesive and the actual dual lock should be more than strong enough to hold your phone in place without too much shaking. You then just need a holder with the right car dock magnets to attach it to.
I really like the standard moto car dock. This one's starting bid is $15 plus $5 shipping. Even if you could get it for that, I think I would spend the extra $10 bucks and get the "real thing".![]()
ive watched the videos and it seems that they give you a metal disk and a case for the droid ALREADY with another metallic disk. so you do not put a metal disk on your orig droid, you just put it in the car. so...
you are getting the adhesive magnetic disk and the case (plastic snap on with a metal disk on the back)
failed. It wont stay where it supposed to be on bumpy road.
