Re-install SG601 and auto download of apps

I went to clean and re-install SG601 and found that after I did this, it automatically downloads applications that I installed from the market. Is there a way to disable this feature? I wanted to start back with a clean slate.

Wiping Cache and data should do the trick. Or SBF flash than apply the rom again after rooting.

What if you chose to backup to Google account? Doesn't that trigger the re-downloading of all your apps?

here is what I did

cleared all cache data for everything under applications
uninstalled all user installed applications

booted into SPRecovery
Wipe System (Factory Reset) x2
Wipe Cache x2

install
selected SG601
wipe system
wipe cache
made selections for install

received an error 99. It suggested flashing with prior backup. Trying that now to get back into the phone
