First the % is based on overall use of the battery since you're last boot so often times it means very little (e.g. if I check it within a few minutes of booting even the 'boot.animation' shows as a few %). It will also depend on which Helix launcher (standard or 3d) and how much you use it (I use AppOrganizer so I rarely ever actually use the app drawer). The 3d naturally uses more battery/power because of the extra CPU cycles to drive the 3d graphics. I have been using the standard (2d) Helix for a while and never noticed any real battery drain.

You are right to be wary. There is much bullcrap. Be wary of me too, because I may be wrong. Make up your own mind after you evaluate all the evidence and the logic. - Mark Rippetoe

I think the home stock launcher just never came up in battery usage because it was part of the android OS, as in its part of core android apps, or android system under battery usage.

With wifi constantly on and doing lots of browsing, home ++ used to register 6% for me. As already stated though, those percentages are based on things that use the battery. If you're not doing much, the home app will be high on the list.
