Low Voltage Kernel breaks wifi?
I tried AdamZ's rom.tgz (kernels only) to try one of his low voltage kernels, and they seemed to break my wifi, saying "unable to start wifi". I'm not using tethering, just connecting to my home router. I tried the low and medium voltage, 800 and 1000 mHz kernels. After flashing back to Chevy's 1 gHz my wifi starts up and connects as usual. Does anyone have any ideas what might cause this?

I installed SG 6.01 and my wifi appears to be broken as well. I hope someone has a fix because it's the one little issue I have with that great ROM <sigh>

I've a lot of about these on other boards and it seems to be coming from the kernel. Switch to one of Chevy's LV kernels and see it the problem is resolved.

I'm on SG 6.01. With adamz LV 1GHz kernel. my wifi is fine.

I chose not to install wifi tether...would that have done it?

I'm a noob...just rooted yesterday and this is my first ROM. I've been lurking and reading for the last month though, and have hacked previous cells, so I'm comfortable doing it. But I do have a question about ROMs vs Kernals...do you install them seperatly?
I installed SG 6.01 and I chose the 1200mzh option, but I'm only oc'd to 800 with setcpu. How do you tell what kernal installed with the ROM? and can you change just the kernal without installing a ROM?
thanks so much...this is the most interesting site on the internetz

FIXED!!! (I should get rid of all my old WEP keys and only keep the current one, I guess

It has to be the kernel as using nadroid to restore Chevy's kernel and then updating to Chevy's newer kernel, with all other programs and settings the same, the wifi works just fine.
