What are your New Years Resolutions and how did you do with last year's resolution?

When I had my Motorola Droid one of my most used apps was Pandora Radio. Pandora became my go to source for music but over the years I grew frustrated with the bugs (there were times I would experience stoppage in play for almost 15 mins to an hour). I remember one time in my frustrations with Pandora thinking "why can't Google come up with an alternative", and now we basically have a large choice of music streaming apps from Pandora, Slacker (which was available during the Motorola Droid says as well), Milk (aka Samsung Music), Google Play, and Spotify. So I have to ask which streaming service is your go to music source? Or (like me as of late) have you ditched music streaming services?

I want to revisit the new priority settings (the new silent mode) in Lollipop. Those running lollipop are familiar with the change with "silent mode" made by Google. This change was met with backlash from some of the community but I actually feel like this change is a good thing. At first I will admit I too fought the change but after playing with priority mode some more I actually feel like this is a change long overdue and here is why. How many times have you put your phone in silent mode only to miss a call, text, or notification because you forgot to turn it back on (this is where android...

It looks like developer "Nitroglycerine33" has made good use of time off over the holiday weekend. He has just released an update to his Eclipse Rom for the Note 3. This is based on the latest version of TouchWiz for the device and brings true AOSP styling to Kit Kat on the Verizon Note 3. This is built on 4.4.2 NC4 with unified firmware. This will really bring a bit of snappiness to the device as it removes all the bloat and includes some performance mods. While the bloat apps have all been removed there is also the addition of all of the AOSP apps for a true AOSP experience. Other customizations include the removal of KNOX, addition of Root, deodexed, custom boot animation support, cm File manager, Nova launcher, S-Pen features, enabled hotspot tethering, and much more! Head to the link below for the download.

Want to talk about this concept termed comfort foods. Wikipedia defines comfort foods as traditional foods eaten that provides a nostalgic feeling. These foods are normally high in carbohydrates (and also sugar). The term was first added to Webster's Dictionary in 1977. The problem with this mindset is we are tying too much emotions to food and this has become a dangerous path for humanity. When one tie in happiness to food, money, clothes, or processions they tend to lean on those at a time of sorrow, sadness, or depression.

How many people do you know turn to a certain food when they are depressed (normally foods high in sugar)?

To answer that, probably many and here is why. As we discussed in a previous article, sugar has a cocaine like effect on the human brain so it provides a sensation of happiness. It is why people who are hooked on drugs like cocaine (or crack cocaine) will struggle to overcome that addiction if they do not confront the sadness (or issues) first. I say this to those struggling with weight loss and discipline to look to understand why you eat certain foods. Look within yourself and begin to deal with the areas of your life that cause sadness and/or self-disappointment. This is hard because this means doing the opposite of what society teaches which is to move on. But you can not move on until you first deal with your issues (your issues of low self-esteem and frustrations with missed opportunities). This is not easy and...

The latest intel from Google's Project Ara modular smartphone project is rather juicy. Apparently, the phone might have a great deal more power than earlier reports suggested. Supposedly, Google is working with NVIDIA to offer the new Tegra K1 as the primary processor of choice for the main component of the phone.

Here's a quote with a few more details,

What do you think of Project Ara? Is it just another weird idea from those crazy Googlers or are they on to something...

The Nvidia Shield tablet is the only tablet outside the Nexus line to get Android 5.0 and it turns out Nvidia isn’t slowing down anytime soon, as it has now started updating the SHIELD Tablet to Android 5.0.1.

Nvidia added a couple of it's own features to this update like new effects for the Camera Awesome app, OpenGL 4.5 graphics, and some memory and performance improvements. This update to should be rolling out to your devices as we speak so check your software updates from the settings menu and see if the OTA is waiting for you.
