If you really want to see what these settings are effecting. Set them to 10x, it really shows the transitions well. Of course after playing set them back to .5x or zero.

Thanks, I tried your little trick to see the "difference" and WOW, the phone went from running in quick sand to lightning fast. After reading about the tweak I switched from 1.0 to 0.05. I have now turned animation OFF.

This is a nice trick, especially for folks on older hardware like the Galaxy S3. For the fast phones out there (Moto X, LG G2, etc) I don't find it necessary. Newer model phones are fast enough already.

just how old can the phone be for this to work?
attempted on a rooted D3 for kicks and it did nothing.
